We are saddened by the news of Leonard Nimoy’s passing due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.  The Star Trek actor died Friday, February 27th at his home in Bel Air.  Mr. Nimoy made his condition public in 2014, attributing his COPD to years of smoking.  Though he quit many years ago, he noted in a CNN interview that, “if there had been a championship for smoking, I would have qualified”, referring to the extent of the addiction.

Mr. Nimoy’s granddaughter, who has a website, shopllap.com, and sells Star Trek related items, tweeted that additional special merchandise was being added to the website, with all proceeds going to the COPD Foundation.
